Instructions

Preparation

  • Melt butter in a small pan over medium heat. Add apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and salt. Stir and cook for 5–7 minutes until apples are tender. Let cool completely.
  • On a lightly floured surface, lay out the puff pastry sheet. Place the brie in the center and spoon the cooled apple filling on top.
  • Gently fold the puff pastry around the brie and seal the edges. Turn the bundle over with the seam side down.
  • Lightly score the top of the pastry in a crisscross pattern and brush with egg wash.

Baking

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and place the assembled bomb on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown and puffed up.

Serving

  • Let the Brie Bomb sit for about 5 minutes before slicing to allow it to set slightly.
  • Slice and enjoy the warm, gooey filling.

Notes

Ensure apples are well-coated in sugar and fully softened for the best flavor. Avoid rushing the caramelization of apples. For healthier variations, consider whole wheat or gluten-free puff pastry and less sugar. You can also mix in other fruits or spices for different flavors.
