Ingredients

Dressing and Marinade

  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar Essential for the salad's deep flavor.

Salad Components

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the balsamic vinegar, olive oil, brown sugar, minced garlic, dried basil, and salt until well combined.
  • Place the chicken thigh fillets in a dish and coat them thoroughly with 4 tablespoons of the prepared marinade. Reserve the remaining marinade for dressing.

Cooking Chicken

  • Heat 1 teaspoon of oil in a grill pan over medium-high heat.
  • Add the marinated chicken to the pan and cook for about 6–8 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is golden and cooked through.
  • Once cooked, remove the chicken from the heat and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it into strips.

Assembly

  • On a serving plate, arrange the Romaine lettuce, sliced avocado, cherry tomatoes, mozzarella balls, and grilled chicken strips.
  • Sprinkle the fresh basil leaves over the top and drizzle with the reserved balsamic dressing.
  • Season with additional salt and pepper as needed, then serve immediately.

Notes

For added flavor, marinate the chicken thighs longer. Customize with nuts or seeds, and consider adding red pepper flakes for spice. Slice avocado right before serving for freshness.
