  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder Enhances flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, gently combine the crab meat, panko breadcrumbs, sharp cheddar cheese, egg, mayonnaise, melted butter, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, chopped parsley, Old Bay seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix without breaking up the crab meat.
  • Shape the mixture into six patties and refrigerate for about 30 minutes to firm up.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook each crab cake for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  • Once cooked, transfer crab cakes to a plate and keep warm.

Lemon Butter Drizzle

  • In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Stir in lemon juice, garlic powder, chopped parsley, and a pinch of salt. Drizzle over warm crab cakes before serving.

Serving

  • Garnish crab cakes with extra parsley and serve with lemon wedges. Enjoy with fresh greens or tartar sauce.

Notes

Chill the mixture to meld flavors and help the cakes hold shape. Fresh crab is preferable over canned for better flavor. Old Bay seasoning is key for authentic taste. Leftover drizzle can be used on grilled vegetables or seafood pasta. Air fryer option: cook at 375°F for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway.
