  • Knead the mixture on a floured surface for about 5–7 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  • Cover the kneaded dough with a clean cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
  • After the dough has risen, punch it down gently. Divide it into small portions, flatten each one, and place a cube of mozzarella or cream cheese in the center.
  • Fold the dough around the cheese, sealing it tightly to form a ball.

Cooking

  • In a deep pan, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
  • Fry the donuts in batches until they turn a beautiful golden brown, about 2–3 minutes per side.
