Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Cut the croissants into halves or thirds and arrange them in the baking dish. Sprinkle chocolate chips in between layers.
  • In a bowl, whisk together eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Pour the custard over the arranged croissants, pressing down gently.
  • Let the dish sit for about 10 minutes to allow croissants to absorb the custard.
  • Transfer the dish to the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and set.
  • Remove from oven, let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Use day-old croissants for better absorption. Feel free to experiment with different chocolates or add fruits and nuts for variation.
