Ingredients

For the stuffing

  • 3/4 cup cooked shrimp, chopped Provides a sweet and succulent flavor.
  • 1 cup lump crab meat, drained and picked over Adds sweetness to the stuffing.

For the salmon

  • 4 thick fillets salmon, skin-on or skinless The star of the dish.
  • 1 lemon sliced For topping.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine crab meat, chopped shrimp, cream cheese, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon zest, minced garlic, chopped parsley, optional dill, Old Bay, and season with salt and pepper. Stir well.
  • Carefully slice a pocket into each salmon fillet.
  • Season the outside of the fillets with salt and pepper.
  • Generously stuff the salmon fillets with the seafood mixture.
  • Place the stuffed salmon in the baking dish and top with lemon slices.

Baking

  • Bake the salmon for 20–25 minutes until it flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 125°F (52°C).
  • Optional: Broil the fillets for an additional 2 minutes for a bubbly, golden crust.

Serving

  • Allow the stuffed salmon to rest for about 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For added texture, stir in breadcrumbs into the filling. Pair with seasonal vegetables for presentation. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
