Ingredients

For the Burrata Bomb

  • 1 large burrata (drained well) The star of our dish, creamy and rich.
  • 1 medium egg, beaten Binding agent for the crust.
  • 2 tbsp flour Dusting for the burrata.
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs Provides extra crunch.
  • 1 1/2 tbsp everything bagel seasoning Adds aromatic flavor.

For the Spicy Tomato Jam

  • 200 g cherry tomatoes (halved) Base of the spicy jam.
  • 2 tbsp sugar Balances the acidity.
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar Adds tangy kick.
  • 1/2 tsp red chili flakes For spicy depth.
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder Enhances jam flavor.

For Serving

  • To taste toasted sourdough or bagel chips Crunchy partner for the bomb.

Instructions

Make the Spicy Jam

  • Combine cherry tomatoes, sugar, apple cider vinegar, red chili flakes, garlic powder, and salt in a saucepan. Simmer on low heat for about 20–25 minutes until thickened.

Prep the Burrata

  • Pat the burrata dry with paper towels and freeze for 10–15 minutes.
  • Mix panko breadcrumbs with everything bagel seasoning in a bowl.

Bread That Bomb

  • Roll the chilled burrata in flour, dip in beaten egg, and coat thoroughly with the seasoned panko. Freeze again for 10 minutes.

Fry the Bomb

  • Heat 1–2 inches of neutral oil to 180°C (350°F). Fry the coated burrata for 45–60 seconds until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.

Serve & Slice

  • Drizzle warm spicy tomato jam over the burrata bomb and serve with toasted sourdough or bagel chips. Garnish with fresh basil or chives.

Notes

Frozen burrata helps in frying without leaking. For milder jam, reduce the chili flakes. Experiment with herbs in the coating.
