Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Spread the uncooked rice evenly in an 8x8-inch baking dish.
  • Pour the beef broth over the rice and follow it with the French onion soup, making sure all rice is submerged.
  • Evenly distribute the butter slices over the top.

Baking

  • Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven.
  • Bake for 25 minutes.
  • After 25 minutes, carefully remove the foil and return the dish to the oven for another 25 minutes.

Finishing

  • Once baking time is complete, fluff the rice gently with a fork.
  • Sprinkle fresh parsley over the top and serve warm.

Notes

To elevate the dish, add extra sautéed onions, top with shredded cheese, or incorporate dried thyme or garlic powder for better flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to a month. Substitute brown rice for a healthier option, or add sautéed mushrooms.
