Instructions

Preparation

  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  • Season the salmon fillets generously with salt, pepper, and lemon zest. Toss the asparagus with a little salt and pepper.

Cooking

  • Add the seasoned asparagus to the skillet and cook for about 4 to 5 minutes until tender yet crisp. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the unsalted butter and let it melt completely.
  • Carefully place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the skillet and cook for 3 to 4 minutes until golden and flaky.
  • During the last minute of cooking, stir in the minced garlic and let it cook until fragrant.
  • Drizzle the lemon juice over the salmon and swirl the buttery sauce gently around the fish.
  • Toss the asparagus back into the pan to coat lightly in the garlic butter sauce, then serve immediately.

Notes

Keep a close eye on your salmon to avoid overcooking. Feel free to add other vegetables like cherry tomatoes or bell peppers for variation. For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes.
