  • 1/2 cup olive salad (or muffuletta olive salad)
  • 1/2 pound sliced salami
  • 1/2 pound sliced mortadella
  • 1/2 pound sliced provolone cheese

  • 1/4 cup sliced pepperoncini
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

Preparation

  • Slice the Italian bread in half horizontally.
  • Spread the olive salad evenly on both halves of the bread.
  • Layer the salami, mortadella, provolone, ham, and pepperoncini on the bottom half of the bread.
  • In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise and Dijon mustard, then spread on the top half of the bread.
  • Optional: add fresh basil leaves for extra flavor.
  • Place the top half of the bread onto the sandwich and press down gently.
  • Wrap the sandwich tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least an hour before slicing into wedges.
