Ingredients

Tortilla Base

  • 4 large large flour tortillas Soft and pliable.
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil For brushing the tortillas.

Beef Mixture

  • 1/2 lb ground beef Juicy and savory.
  • 1 tbsp taco seasoning To add flavor to the beef.
  • 1/2 cup water To create sauce for the beef.

Toppings

  • 1 cup refried beans Creamy base layer.
  • 1 cup shredded Mexican cheese blend For melting on top.
  • 1/2 cup enchilada sauce or taco sauce Adds flavor and moisture.
  • 1/4 cup diced tomatoes For garnish.
  • 2 tbsp sliced jalapeños For heat.
  • 2 tbsp chopped green onions For garnish.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Gather ingredients.
  • Brush both sides of the tortillas with vegetable oil.
  • Arrange tortillas on a sheet pan and bake for 5-7 minutes until golden.

Cooking the Beef

  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned.
  • Add taco seasoning and water, stirring to combine. Simmer for 2 minutes.

Assembling the Pizza

  • Spread refried beans over two crispy tortillas and top with seasoned beef.
  • Place a second tortilla on top of the beef layer.
  • Spread enchilada or taco sauce on the top tortilla and sprinkle cheese.

Baking

  • Bake for 7-10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove from oven and top with diced tomatoes, jalapeños, and green onions.
  • Cut into quarters and serve immediately.

Notes

Ensure tortillas are evenly brushed with oil. Don’t rush melting the cheese for the best flavor.
