Ingredients

For the crust

  • 1/3 cup 1⁄3 cup cold water Balances the temperature of the solution.
  • 1 package (8 oz) 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened Adds a rich, creamy texture.
  • 1 tub (8 oz) 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed Lightens the filling.
  • Zest of 1 Zest of 1 orange (optional) Provides an aromatic boost.

For garnish

Instructions

Preparation of the crust

  • In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar. Mix until the crumbs are evenly coated.
  • Press the mixture firmly into a 9-inch pie dish to form the crust. Refrigerate while preparing the filling.

Prepare the filling

  • In a separate bowl, dissolve the orange Jello with 2/3 cup of boiling water until completely dissolved. Add 1/3 cup of cold water and mix thoroughly.
  • Allow the Jello mixture to cool for 10-15 minutes.
  • Beat softened cream cheese until smooth, then gradually pour in the cooled Jello mixture while continuing to blend.
  • Gently fold in the thawed whipped topping and orange zest if using.

Assemble the pie

  • Pour the filling mixture into the prepared crust and smooth the top with a spatula.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until the filling is set.

Serve the pie

  • Once set, top with whipped cream and garnish with orange slices or wedges.
  • Slice and serve.

Notes

Consider adding crushed pineapple for a tropical twist or using different Jello flavors. For healthier variants, use low-fat cream cheese or sugar-free Jello.
