Instructions

Marinate the Beef

  • In a large bowl, mix together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice vinegar, black pepper, and optional sesame seeds. Add the sliced beef, ensuring it's well coated. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

Cook the Beef

  • Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the beef slices in batches until browned and cooked through. Set the cooked beef aside.

Season the Rice

  • In a bowl, mix the warm cooked rice with rice vinegar, sugar, and salt evenly.

Assemble the Stack

  • Layer the seasoned rice at the bottom of a plate. Add the cooked beef on top, then pile on the fresh toppings: sliced cucumber, avocado, shredded carrots, and sliced green onions. Drizzle with optional spicy mayo.

Notes

For enhanced flavor, marinate the beef overnight. Grilling the beef brings unique smoky flavor and texture. Serve with Korean pickles or a refreshing salad.
