Instructions

Cooking

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, stirring them together for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spatula, and cook until fully browned for about 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Stir in soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar substitute, and chili flakes if using.
  • Toss in the shredded cabbage and cook for another 5 minutes until the cabbage softens but still retains a slight crunch.
  • Remove the skillet from heat, top with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, and serve hot.

Notes

Consider adding bell peppers or sliced mushrooms for extra flavor. Let the dish rest for a few minutes off the heat after cooking to meld flavors.
