Instructions

Preparation of the Crust

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Combine graham cracker crumbs and granulated sugar in a mixing bowl.
  • Add melted butter and stir until blended.
  • Press the mixture firmly into a 9-inch pie dish or tart pan.
  • Bake for 8 minutes, then allow it to cool slightly.

Making the Cream Cheese Filling

  • In a mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  • Pour the filling over the cooled crust, spreading it evenly.

Preparing the Pecan Topping

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter with brown sugar and corn syrup.
  • Stir until smooth, then remove from heat and whisk in egg, vanilla extract, and salt.
  • Fold in chopped pecans.

Assembling and Baking

  • Spoon the pecan mixture over the cream cheese layer, spreading evenly.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes until the top is set and slightly caramelized.
