Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 8-inch round cake pans.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until combined.
  • In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with buttermilk.
  • Folding in the dragon fruit puree and pink food coloring, if desired, until combined.
  • Divide the batter evenly between prepared pans and smooth the tops.

Baking
