Ingredients

For the Pastry

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and roll out the puff pastry until it's about ¼-inch thick.
  • Cut the pastry into wide strips, arrange in a circular ring shape on a parchment-lined baking sheet, and seal the ends.
  • Brush the top with beaten egg and sprinkle with smoked paprika.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and puffy, then allow to cool slightly.

Avocado Spread

  • In a medium bowl, mash the avocados and mix with lime juice, olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.

Cook the Shrimp

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat, add shrimp, smoked paprika, red pepper flakes, and salt.
  • Sauté shrimp for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque, then remove from heat.

Assembly

  • Spread the avocado mixture over the cooled pastry and arrange the shrimp on top.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley and an extra pinch of red pepper flakes.

Notes

Keep puff pastry cold for best results, prepare shrimp and avocado in advance to save time. The dish pairs well with a green salad or dipping sauces.
