Ingredients

For the piña colada

  • 1 cup frozen strawberries For a vibrant and sweet flavor.
  • 1/4 cup white rum Adds a light kick.
  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice Provides refreshing zest.
  • 1/2 cup coconut cream For creaminess.
  • 1/2 cup crushed ice To create a smooth texture.

For the whipped topping

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream Whipped for topping.
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar Sweetener for whipped cream.
  • 2 tbsp Malibu coconut rum For added indulgence.

For garnish

  • to taste toasted coconut flakes Optional garnish.
  • 1 piece pineapple wedge Garnish for each glass.
  • 1 piece fresh strawberries Garnish for each glass.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a blender, combine the frozen strawberries, white rum, pineapple juice, coconut cream, and crushed ice. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  • Chill hurricane or tulip glasses in the freezer for 5 minutes.
  • In a bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form. Gently fold in the Malibu rum.
  • Pour the strawberry piña colada mixture into the chilled glasses and top with the whipped cream.
  • Garnish each glass with a pineapple wedge, a fresh strawberry, and sprinkle toasted coconut flakes on top if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a smoother drink, blend on low initially, then increase speed. Fresh strawberries can be used instead of frozen, but additional ice may be needed. Adjust sugar in the whipped cream to taste. For a stronger coconut flavor, swap half the heavy cream with more coconut cream.
