Instructions

Preparation

  • Boil salted water in a large pot. Add the macaroni and cook until al dente. Once done, drain it and set aside.
  • In a large pan, heat a splash of butter or olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced leek and mushrooms, sautéing until soft and golden.
  • Introduce cooked chicken strips to the pan, stirring gently to blend flavors.
  • Pour in the heavy cream, stirring continuously. Allow it to simmer for about 3–4 minutes until thickened.
  • Add the drained pasta to the pan, tossing everything together until coated in sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Transfer the mixture to a baking dish. Optionally, sprinkle extra cheese on top and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 15–20 minutes until bubbly and golden.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding garlic powder or fresh herbs before baking. This dish can be made in advance and freezes well.
