  • 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper Adds crispiness and vibrant color.
  • 1/2 cup chopped red onion Sweet and tangy flavor.
  • 1/3 cup sliced black or kalamata olives Briny and rich.

Instructions

Make the Dough

  • Start by dissolving the yeast and sugar in warm water in a large bowl. Let it sit for about 5–10 minutes until it becomes foamy.
  • Stir in olive oil, salt, and flour. Mix until the dough starts to come together, then knead on a floured surface until smooth (about 5–7 minutes).
  • Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm spot for 60 minutes or until it has doubled in size.

Preheat and Prep the Pan

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and grease a large sheet pan with olive oil.
  • Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release air bubbles and press it into the prepared pan.
  • Let it rest for another 10–15 minutes while preparing your toppings.

Assemble Your Pizza

  • Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough.
  • Sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar over the sauce, then add green bell pepper, red onion, olives, and oregano.
  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes if desired.

Bake to Perfection

  • Slide the loaded pan into the preheated oven and bake for about 18–22 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and the crust is golden brown.

Cool and Serve

  • Let the pizza rest for about 5 minutes before cutting it into thick squares.

Notes
