Ingredients

Macaron Shells

  • 1 cup 100g almond flour Finely ground for a delicate texture.
  • 1 3/4 cups 200g powdered sugar Sifted to prevent clumps.
  • 3 large egg whites, room temperature Essential for achieving stiff peaks.
  • 1/4 cup 50g granulated sugar Stabilizes the egg whites.
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract Enhances overall flavor.
  • pink gel food coloring For a vibrant appearance.

Vanilla Filling

  • 1/2 cup 115g unsalted butter, softened Provides rich flavor and texture.
  • 1 1/2 cups 180g powdered sugar (for filling) Sweetness for the filling.
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream Adds smoothness to the filling.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (for filling) Round flavor for the filling.

Instructions

Make the Macaron Batter

  • Sift the almond flour and powdered sugar into a mixing bowl.
  • In another bowl, beat the room-temperature egg whites until frothy.
  • Gradually add the granulated sugar, beating continuously until stiff peaks form.
  • Gently fold in the sifted almond flour and powdered sugar mixture.
  • Add a few drops of pink gel food coloring and fold until the color is evenly distributed.

Pipe & Bake

  • Prepare a piping bag with a round tip and fill it with the macaron batter.
  • Pipe heart shapes onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Let the macarons sit for 30-40 minutes to form a dry skin.
  • Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) and bake for 12-14 minutes.
  • Let cool completely on the parchment paper.

Prepare the Vanilla Filling

  • Beat the softened butter until fluffy.
  • Gradually mix in the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and heavy cream until smooth.

Chill & Serve

  • Pipe filling onto one macaron shell and top with another half.
  • Refrigerate for 12-24 hours before serving.
