  • 1 whole whole Camembert wheel (250g) Soft, creamy, and rich, the star of the dish.
  • 2 tbsp hot honey Or regular honey with a pinch of chili flakes.
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves Aromatic and earthy.
  • 2 tbsp shelled pistachios, toasted and chopped Adds crunch and color.
  • 1 tsp olive oil Enriches the flavors.
  • to taste freshly cracked black pepper Enhances the cheese’s creaminess.
  • to serve toasted baguette slices Ideal for dipping.
  • to serve crackers or grissini For delightful dippers.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (355°F).
  • Remove any plastic from the Camembert and place it back into its wooden box or a small ovenproof dish.
  • Score the top rind in a delicate crosshatch pattern.
  • Drizzle with olive oil and 1 tablespoon of hot honey.
  • Sprinkle fresh thyme leaves and freshly cracked black pepper on top.

Cooking

  • Bake uncovered for 15–18 minutes until gooey and bubbling.
  • Remove from the oven and top with the remaining hot honey and the toasted, chopped pistachios.

Serving

  • Serve hot with toasted baguette slices, crackers, or fruit slices for dipping.

Notes

Let the cheese come to room temperature before baking. Do not skip scoring the rind to allow for better honey penetration.
