Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  • Whisk together flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  • In a separate bowl, mix buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, vanilla extract, lemon zest, and yellow food coloring.
  • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until well combined.

Baking
